Winter 2022

Winter 2022
On Saturday 29th January Knockbain Farm were hoping to host a tree planting event to raise funds for Dingwall Community Woodland. The stormy January weather meant that the planting was put off until mid February.
On a dreich February Saturday morning around 20 volunteers turned up ready with wellies, waterproofs, spades and a sense of humour.
Usually the farm pays for the trees to be planted, but this time they donated 30p to Dingwall Community Woodland for every tree planted by the hardy volunteers.  With a total of 800 trees to plant across 0.5 hectares there was the potential for a total of £240 to be raised! 🥳
This January Knockbain Farm added another 800 trees to their land as part of their ongoing efforts to support the environment and biodiversity on their farm. 🐞🐝🦋

As well as raising funds to progress the woodland project, this event was a fantastic opportunity for us to learn skills in tree planting; skills that will come in handy when the time comes to plant thousands of trees that will make the Dingwall Community Woodland!
